Stan and Margaret Tullues founded Tully’s Plastic Bottles as a sole proprietor’s business in 1997. Owning only an Isuzu pick-up and a thousand rand loan, the retailing of plastic bottles, what was suppose to be an extra income for the elder couple, developed into a full-time business from their home at 148 Luttig Street, Pretoria West, Gauteng, South Africa.

As business was growing extremely fast, an accountant, Jaen Gouws was instructed to register the business as a Closed Corporation. On May 27, 1998 the business was registered and Jaen was appointed as financial manager of the business from that day.
In September 2001 however, the couple decided to retire, and sold their business to their accountant, Jaen Gouws, who was involved since the beginning, and his father Tinus Gouws. On November 4, 2001, the business was handed over to the new owners – a team with a refined and expanded vision..
