Willem de Waal found the Locheim Simmentaler Stud in 1980. The first cows were bought from the Kykso stud. As time passed more animals were bought at sales and good female animals were added to the herd. The well known bull, Kykso Kaidam, is the first bull that was bought. Other sires that were used in the 1980’s are Salerika Evan, Jahdal Ibbie, Buschbrum Bobby, Kykso Hadat and Congosim Hagen.
